CLYDEBANK’S MP has revealed the winners of his first annual charity Christmas card competition, which raised £400 for two local charities.
The winning entry from Erin Wilson, P7 at Lennox Primary School, has been made into Martin Docherty-Hughes’ official Christmas card.
Framed A3 posters have also been presented to Erin for her and her school, with a third produced for Mr Docherty-Hughes’ constituency office.
Two runners-up, Ariane McVie, P2 from St Stephen’s Primary School, and Ava Mullen, P6 from St Joseph’s Primary School, were presented with a painting set and Christmas selection box.
The design competition has raised almost £400 for Clydebank and Dumbarton and District Women’s Aid organisations.
The SNP MP told the Post: “The quality of the entries was excellent and it was really difficult to pick winners.
“I’d like to thank all of the pupils who took part, budding artists and designers all.
“I’m delighted that the competition was sponsored by two locally-based businesses, and I offer my thanks to them both, Clydebank Co-operative and Aggreko of Dumbarton.
“I’d also like to thank JJR Print in Dumbarton for supplying the framed prints for free.
“We have raised just under £400, which will be split between the Clydebank and Dumbarton and District Women’s Aid organisations.
“The work they do helping local women and their families is invaluable,” he stated, “and they will always have my support and appreciation.”
