POLICE have been called in over the theft of “Baby Felix” from Clyde Shopping Centre.
The doll was featured in the window of Clydebank Baby Wear until Friday, July 14 when he was stolen by a woman described as heavily set and in her late 50s.
Shop owners, who haven’t had a problem in 10 years in the centre, put an “abducted” sign in the window stating: “If Felix is not returned unharmed and fully clothed within one week, we will be forced to put the entire [CCTV] footage of the abduction onto Facebook for her neighbours to judge accordingly. Oh and the police will be notified.”
Officers have been informed and are said to be following a positive line of enquiry.
Debbie Love, manageress of the shop, told the Post the “reborn doll” is quite popular now and this one came with a name tag.
Describing the CCTV footage, she said: “The woman stopped outside the window, looks at the doll, looks to see where staff are, then puts the doll under her coat.
“She came back in on Thursday and the owner told her to go read the sign.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101.
