FIREFIGHTERS attended a blaze at Rothesay Dock this afternoon, they report.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed they were called to an incident at 3.11pm to the Clyde Boatyard at the dock.
It was initially reported to be an oil drum on fire but later described as a "pile of debris".
Members of the public reported hearing an explosion with smoke visible from several miles away.
But the fire service told the Post they had no mention of an explosion currently. There were no reported injuries.
A spokesman for SFRS said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 3.11pm on Thursday, July 26 to reports of a fire in the open in Clydebank.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire engines to the town’s Dock Street, where firefighters extinguished a fire which had taken hold of a pile of debris.
“There were no casualties.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.”
