Ryan Halpin, 29, from Hardgate has taken over the Glen Cafe on Dumbarton Road and was looking for a big name to officially open his new eatery.

Bridges was more than happy to support his school friend, who features in his recent autobiography, 'We Need To Talk About... Kevin Bridges'.

The 28-year-old comedian from Clydebank expressed his support for local enterprise in the area.

Kevin said: "Obviously, I hope the cafe does well - Ryan's one of my best pals and he needed a big name to come and open it. And I'm the only big name he's got in his phonebook.

"He [Ryan] has only cooked for me once, that time he cooked tuna pasta for me in his house when he was steaming. And it was nice enough - so I can only imagine what he's capable of now he's taken a bit of a professional interest in it."

The comedian added: "I hope it does well and I hope people support local businesses rather than going to franchises like Greggs. You'll get a better roll and sausage in here."
