GARY Arbuckle came off the bench to rescue a point for Yoker late on against Kilsyth Rangers.
The Whe-Ho have been much better on their travels this season and went in front after half an hour, David Crerand heading home Kenny Marshall’s free kick.
Steven Reilly’s men were denied what appeared to be a good claim for a penalty when Crerand went down in the box, but advantage was played only for Shaun Kelly to waste it by shooting wide.
Scoring goals hasn’t been an issue for Yoker for much of the season, the reason they find themselves in the relegation zone in the Super League First Division is their fragility at the back.
That was evident again on half time when Jamie Carson failed to deal with Prior’s long kick upfield, Liam Campbell chose to stay on his line and Joe Barclay finished well.
The visitors impressed in the second half as they looked to retake the lead; Marshall and skipper Gary Bissland dominant in midfield.
Marshall saw a free kick bounce back off post with Prior well beaten after 58 minutes.
Nicky Prentice then went close for Kilsyth, who Kilsyth would get their noses in front with 10 minutes to go as Barclay finished from close range.
Yoker got a deserved equaliser late on when Arbuckle nodded home. They now face three games in eight days starting tonight when Blantyre Vics visit Holm Park (6.45pm kick-off).
Upcoming fixtures: Blantyre (H) tonight Wed 20th, 6.45pm; Shotts (A) Saturday, 2pm; Greenock (H) April 25th, 6.45pm.
