A MAN arrested in Langbank last night after a car was stopped on the A8 by police is to appear in court today in connection with an alleged murder, it has emerged from our sister paper Greenock Telegraph.
The Audi TT vehicle was followed by 'specialist police resources' as it travelled at high speed all the way from Clydebank area through to Dumbarton, with a helicopter also tracking it.
It was brought to a halt - missing its driver side door - just ahead of the roundabout into the village at around 3.45pm.
The vehicle remained blocking the carriageway for almost two hours, causing massive tailbacks westbound.
The 25-year-old man held at the scene is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later in connection with the death of 21-year-old Jamie Johnstone.
He died following an incident outside a flat in the city's Sandyhills on January 16.
