TRIBUTES have been paid to a Clydebank man who died while in police custody at the weekend.
The 24-year-old, who has been named locally as Declan Gallacher, took unwell within the Montrose Street police office around 3.30am on Sunday morning.
One pal reached out to Declan's two sisters, saying: "So sorry for your loss girls.
"Your brother he was such a good guy always full of banter and fun. Rest easy Declan.
"My heart goes out to all your family and friends at this very sad time."
Another added: "You were always smiling mate and giving us laughs, remember our times in Mountblow you were always the loudest and funniest glad I got to see you as a man three months ago what a difference from that young boy.
"Rest easy brother taking to soon."
One wrote: "Yet another dark day in Clydebank with hundreds of heavy hearts.
"Life is far too short and fragile.
"I hope you’re reunited in the arms of your mum and rest together peacefully in a better place Declan Gallacher. God bless your soul."
"I can’t believe I am actually writing this, my heart is broken," added another.
"The world is a cruel cruel place and you did not deserve to be taken so young. You deserved so much more.
"I only knew you a few months but you were such a good friend to me Dec (my mukkar) and I will miss you forever, fly high. RIP"
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are treating as unexplained at this time.
"Enquiries are ongoing and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
"As is normal procedure in these circumstances, the incident will be reported to the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC)."
