AS WE approach the last month of the school term – we can’t believe we are even saying that – we are all working hard at Edinbarnet Primary to reach our goals before the year ends.

Just before the Easter holidays we took part in an Easter egg competition, which was organised by our parent council.

The winners were announced at our Easter Service.

We would like to say a big “thank you” to our Parent Council for organising the competition. We would also like to offer up a huge “well done” to the winners, from primary one to primary seven: Ahmed Al-Dubaee, Emmie Gourlay, Kayley Finlay, Mirren MacDonald, Jaden Cameron, Skye Henfrey, Gemma Collins, Aiva Carroll, Eva Robb, Thomas Hunter, Dylan Turner and Neve Barjonas.

The Easter eggs were beautiful, colourful and highly inventive.

Some were decorated with characters who we already know from movies or books but some were characters or animals created especially for the competition.

Recently, our primary fives were awarded with a Pyjama and Pizza party for displaying excellent behaviour and commitment to their learning.

They had pizza in class after lunch and brought their jammies into school as a change of clothes. Well done, primary five!

Over the past few weeks, pupils from primary five to primary seven were lucky enough to get a visit from a football coach called Andrew, who put in lots of his own time to help develop our youngsters’ football skills.

It was loads of fun but we needed a big rest afterwards!

Primary two pupils have been doing junk modelling as part of their co-operative learning lessons.

They have also been working on lots of social skills and developing knowledge about how to work well in a team.

Primary seven youngsters recently had a task surrounding their studies in politics as they learned about the Scottish Government.

They were to create a presentation displaying their recently acquired knowledge and present this to the rest of the class.

As reading is one of our big improvement areas in the school, each class recently got to attend a visit to the library next to our school.

This was to help us get more familiar with the order system and the staff so that when we go on our own we know what to do.

We also got to hear a story from one of the librarians – it was lovely and relaxing listening to a new story.
