COUNCILLORS at a planning committee meeting voted in favour of submitting the Local Development Plan 2 for further examination.
The plan sets out the council’s strategy for the development and use of land in West Dunbartonshire, which will now be sent to the Planning and Environmental Appeals Division for examination.
In September last year, the plan was approved by the planning committee then published in October, with a period of 42 days for the public to submit objections or letters of support.

At the meeting on Wednesday, May 22, councillor Lawrence O’Neill submitted a motion objecting to the plan going ahead, unless Strauss Avenue and The Glebe sites were removed.
Councillors Gail Casey and Marie McNair agreed, however, Councillors Diane Docherty, Jim Brown and Karen Conaghan voted in favour of the plan going ahead which was the final decision due to the chair’s casting vote.
