THE new Blairdardie Primary was formally opened last week as the local community celebrated their new centre for learning.
Pupils have been in the school since March and Councillor Chris Cunningham, city convener for education, skills and early years, unveiled the plaque to mark the opening.
He told the Post: “It was a pleasure to officially open this fantastic new school and to join in the celebrations with the children and staff. This is an amazing building that will encourage the pupils and staff to flourish in their inspired new learning spaces.”
Area councillor Paul Carey said it was an "amazing building" and he was delighted with the pupils who performed for the opening.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted that Blairdardie Primary School has a brand new building, and it provides a stimulating, healthy and wonderful atmosphere for young people to learn in and play.
"I must thank the parent council, who, without their efforts, I am quite sure this new school would never have been built. My heartfelt gratitude to them for supporting and arguing year upon year to get the school replaced."
