Firefighters attended a blaze at the former Yoker Primary School this evening.
Plumes of black smoke were seen across north-west Glasgow, as fire crews tried to control the blaze.
Dramatic footage showed the old Yoker Primary on Craggan Drive ablaze.
Police said they were investigating the fire as suspicious.
One resident in the area's Kinellar Drive described the moment his house went dark with the smoke.
He told our sister title, the Evening Times: "I smelt burning, and then saw smoke passing by my living room window. I thought it was a barbecue at first, but then the room got really dark.
"I ran to the window and there was a massive black cloud covering the house.
"The school's isolated, but firefighters closed off part of the road."
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to an incident at the derelict Yoker Primary School in Glasgow at 5.50pm on Monday, August 5.
“Operations control mobilised four appliances and firefighters are currently still in attendance”.
