BAE Systems plans to recruit more than 800 apprentices across the UK in the 2020 – the highest number ever recruited.
A total of 63 of the apprenticeships will be based in Glasgow – at either the Scotstoun or Govan sites.
The majority of the new apprentices will join either the Air or Maritime sectors.
This includes developing future combat air technologies for the Royal Air Force and working on the Dreadnought programme – a new generation of submarine for the Royal Navy that will replace the current Vanguard class.
Lauren McNeill, a fourth year Engineering Technician Glasgow apprentice, said: “It is really exciting to hear first-hand from the Royal Navy how they will benefit from the work I do.

“I am constantly learning on the job whilst also gaining qualifications and there are so many opportunities for me to progress in the future.”
BAE Systems invested more than £100m in education, skills and early careers activities in the UK in 2018 and has around 2,000 apprentices in training at any given time, with around 95 per cent securing permanent roles.
The apprenticeship recruitment window is open now and will run until 28 February 2020.
