PUPILS from Corpus Christi Primary School marked the end of a weekly cooking club by celebrating a Spanish tapas night.
Youngsters who attend Spanish Club “El Club Español Familiar” along with family members, travelled to Tennent’s Cook School last Thursday - coinciding with Language Week Scotland.
The event marked their final week with a family celebration theme to apply all of their new language skills.
Vicky Kytzia, principal teacher at the school, told the Post: “Working with a chef who worked with Gordon Ramsay was truly inspirational.
“We’ve had very positive feedback from all of our families and I’m looking forward to the next stage in our schools food journey.

“Tennent’s Training Academy is a fantastic new business link for our school and our very successful family tapas event is just the beginning.”
The school on Pikeman Road were previously awarded the Education Scotland’s Food for Thought grant which helped put on the family cooking classes which have proved very popular with parents and carers.
Jemma Maden, teacher at Corpus Christi, added: “The Spanish club has been fantastic to be a part of. We live in a multilingual world and it is vital that children are exposed to as much linguistic culture as we can offer them.
“The feedback from our families has been so positive and, as a group, we have had so much fun together developing our language, learning and exploring elements of the culture.”
