A RESIDENT of Clyde Court Care Home has celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family.
Mary Smillie said she had a “great day” at her vintage tea party, which included some dancing – one of the pensioner’s favourite hobbies.
In her younger days, Mary loved going to The Lacarno and Barrowland, and it was at the dancing that she met her husband John Smillie.

Mary worked as a home help before she retired and has always been a keen church goer.
Her family is very important to her, and she gets visits regularly as they live in the area.
