CLYDEBANK residents are being urged by the town’s MSP to be vigilant as Scotland braces for the coronavirus.
The Scottish Government says it is “well prepared” for an outbreak.
Doctors’ surgeries are being supplied with face masks and hospitals are stocked full of protective equipment.
Gil Paterson MSP said: “Seeing the coronavirus spread into Europe is of great concern to myself and the Scottish Government, but I am informed we are well prepared.
“It is more than likely we will see positive cases in Scotland, I am told by the health secretary, so we must do all we can to avoid an outbreak.

“I am glad to see the First Minister acting proactively to hopefully prevent this virus causing major disruption as it has done in other countries.
“To my constituents, I urge vigilance and to exercise personal responsibility should there be cases in Scotland, to help protect your fellow citizens.
“Hopefully, we can weather this storm with as little affect as possible and avoid any escalations as we have observed abroad.”
