WEST Dunbartonshire Council has said it is committed to ensuring the area recovers from any adverse economic impact experienced due to Covid-19.
Early steps have already been taken to support local businesses to ensure they can continue trading once it is safe to do so.
A total of 657 firms across the local authority have received grants totalling £7.59million.
And WDC officers are currently participating in analysis of the anticipated impact the pandemic will have on the economy, which will inform recovery plans.
Council leader Jonathan McColl said the main focus at the moment is making sure limited damage is done.

He told the Post: “Further ideas and options for supporting the local economy will be discussed at a future council meeting.
“Right now our focus is on ensuring that we do everything we can, working with the Scottish Government to limit the damage being done at this difficult time.
“We are working directly with anyone having difficulties, to do everything we can, to avoid the effects of lockdown.
“Recent widening of access by the Scottish and UK governments to the furlough scheme and financial support for businesses is very welcome and I would ask anyone needing assistance to look on council and government websites for information and contact the relevant body for advice and to apply. Information is easy to find on the council website at west-dunbarton.gov.uk/business/.”
