A DALMUIR thug who bit two police officers following a stand-up fight with his former “drinking buddies” had only been released from prison hours before the rampage.
Antonio Ross had been drinking Dragon Soop and taking street Valium when he lashed out at a flat in Park Court.
The 26-year-old, who has convictions for violence dating back to 2013, appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last Tuesday after pleading guilty to four charges.
Martina McGuigan, prosecuting, said: “At 8pm on April 15, the witnesses were at home when the accused attended.
“He was under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs.
“He became aggressive and started to shout and swear towards the male witness and at that point they began to fight.
“The female witness attempted to intervene and said she ‘used her nails to try dig into the accused to pull him off’.”
Police were called and traced Ross at his mother’s address. He then became aggressive towards officers.
The procurator fiscal went on to say: “He began to struggle as handcuffs were being applied. Other officers tried to restrain the accused and he bit a female officer to the right bicep, tearing the skin and drawing blood through her Police Scotland fleece.
“The accused continued to bite down on her arm.
“She struck the accused with her leg in an attempt to free herself.”
The court heard that the officer had to get a tetanus jag and Hepatitis B booster – and had to have bloods taken three, six and 12 weeks after the incident.
Ms McGuigan added: “Another police officer intervened and the accused bit him to the wrist, but the officer was able to pull away before the skin broke.
“Handcuffs were applied and he was shouting ‘get to f**k’, ‘scummy b******s’, ‘I’m going to f*****g murder you all’ and ‘you’re all f*****g getting it’.
“He was taken to the floor and fast straps were applied.
“Whilst he was in the police van he managed to remove the fast straps and stated that he intended to strangle himself, and struck his head against the van.”
His solicitor, Scott Adair, said: “He had just spent from December 24 to April 15 in custody.

“He is extremely remorseful, and disgusted, given he had just been released a few hours earlier.”
Sentencing was deferred to October 15.
Ross, currently an inmate at Greenock prison, will stay in custody until then.
