Our Holy Redeemer Primary School in Clydebank will be closed tomorrow due to "urgent work within the school", West Dunbartonshire Council has announced.
Parents were informed of the closure by West Dunbartonshire Council's Facebook page earlier this afternoon.
All pupils and staff have been instructed to remain at home, while the work within the building is completed.
Online learning will be arranged for pupils for Wednesday.
Parents and carers have been advised to check the council's social media for updates on the reopening of the primary school in Whitecrook.
All schools in Clydebank, and across West Dunbartonshire, are due to close for the October break at the end of this week.
A council spokesperson said: "A light fitting in an unoccupied area of the building fell and the school was closed for one day to check all other fittings as a precaution.
"Colleagues in Health and Safety are involved and are content with the action taken. All West Dunbartonshire schools comply with national building regulations and are regularly inspected to ensure they continue to be safe for use by pupils and staff."
