Garscadden and Scotstounhill Councillor Eva Murray has been unanimously selected to be Scottish Labour’s candidate for Glasgow Anniesland at next year’s Scottish Parliamentary elections.
The councillor and depute leader of Glasgow’s Labour group, said on Twitter: “My thanks go to local members who voted and took part in today’s meeting. We have a fight ahead but I’m up for the challenge.”
Cllr Murray will challenge Bill Kidd MSP who has held the Glasgow Anniesland constituency since 2011.
Mr Kidd said: “I have received confirmation from the SNP National Secretary that the party membership in the Glasgow Anniesland constituency have backed my candidacy for next year’s election.
“I am looking forward to making the case for SNP and for independence.”
