A NEW video has uncovered some of the secrets of Clydebank’s abandoned Playdrome leisure centre…more than three years after it closed.

The video, created by the “urban explorers” behind the Urbandoned channel on YouTube, lays bare the state of the building since it was vacated in March 2017 on the opening of the new Clydebank Leisure Centre.

It looks at the present-day condition of the main pool, water slides, river rapids, children’s training pool, sports hall, indoor bowling green and more, as well as examining some of the fire damage the building has suffered since its closure, most notably in May 2018.

The video doesn’t say when the unauthorised visit to the building took place, other than describing it as “the evening of a late summer day”.
