KILBOWIE Road in the centre of Clydebank remains closed off as police officers and a bomb squad attend the scene of an incident near a railway station in the town.

Officers were called out at around 12.15pm on Thursday following reports of concern for a person.

One passerby told the Post they had seen a man being searched near Singer railway station.

Another bystander sent the Post an image of what is thought to be a remote inspection device checking a package close to the station.

Trains and buses have been diverted away from the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "“Officers were called around 12.15pm to Kilbowie Road, Clydebank, following reports of a suspicious package.

"“Emergency services, including EOD, are in attendance and carrying out enquiries.”
