KILBOWIE Road in the centre of Clydebank remains closed off as police officers and a bomb squad attend the scene of an incident near a railway station in the town.
Officers were called out at around 12.15pm on Thursday following reports of concern for a person.
One passerby told the Post they had seen a man being searched near Singer railway station.
Another bystander sent the Post an image of what is thought to be a remote inspection device checking a package close to the station.
NEW: The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Bowling and Drumry, so services from Dalmuir to Larkhall, Balloch to Airdrie and Dalmuir to Motherwell will be diverted via Yoker.

Trains and buses have been diverted away from the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "“Officers were called around 12.15pm to Kilbowie Road, Clydebank, following reports of a suspicious package.
"“Emergency services, including EOD, are in attendance and carrying out enquiries.”
