The body of a 17-year-old boy was recovered from the canal in Clydebank on Friday morning.
Police were called to the Forth and Clyde Canal near Kirkwood Avenue, between Linnvale and Whitecrook, around 9.30am on May 28.
Officers have confirmed that it was not being treated as suspicious.
Readers extended their condolences to the boy's family and friends online after the tragedy was first reported.
A spokesman for the police told the Post: “Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a 17-year-old man was recovered from a canal near Kirkwood Avenue, Clydebank around 9.30am on Friday, May 28.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
