A NEW telecoms mast is to be erected in North Drumry as part of the expansion of 5G services in the Clydebank area.
The 20-metre high (65.6 feet) mast, to serve customers of the Three network in the area, is to be put up near homes in Kirkoswald Drive.
Notification of the planned mast has been lodged with West Dunbartonshire Council.
The company says the mast will be located in “an extremely constrained cell search area”, and that suitable sites for new masts are “extremely limited”.
In documents submitted to the council, planning manager Sam Wismayer said: “Taking into account technical constraints, available sites and planning constraints, we consider that this site and design clearly represents the optimum environmental solution.”
