A NEW minister has been appointed for Whiteinch Church of Scotland.
Laura Digan was inducted into the role at a special service in South Street last week.
She is a graduate of Glasgow University and worked in digital communications before deciding to enter the ministry.
Laura said: "I’ve known Whiteinch Church since my student days and I was attracted to the church by the way in which the congregation encourage each other to release and use their God given gifts.
“It is exciting that Whiteinch doesn't have a building but meets in the community. I think it’s a wonderful example to the wider church that we are a visible presence with a heart to serve the local community.
"Over the coming months my aim is simply to get to know everyone and then for us to work together as a team on our shared vision for God's new season at Whiteinch.”
The Post reported in October that Whiteinch's priest Monsignor Peter Smith passed away, aged 62.
Mr Smith was the former chancellor of the Archdiocese and parish priest of St Paul’s in Whiteinch.
