FILM crews have been spotted setting up a base next to the old Play Drome site in Clydebank.
Various film and television vehicles have been pictured at the spot on Abbotsford Road in the town centre. 
It is not yet known what the crews are shooting however, Bankies have shared their thoughts on social media.
One person said the teams are filming for the seventh series of the award-winning Scottish crime drama Shetland.
Another backed up that suggestion, saying that they had spotted Shetland's lead actor Douglas Henshall on the site yesterday.
Reports on social media have also suggested that filming is taking place across Clydebank at locations including the West College Scotland campus and a Co-op store in Hardgate.
It won't be the first time that the area has had a starring role on screen.
In 2016, filming for T2: Trainspotting took place at The Douglas Hotel on the corner of North Douglas Street and John Knox Street in Whitecrook.
The venue was transformed into the fictional pub "Port Sunshine".
The Play Drome closed in 2017 on completion of the brand new Clydebank Leisure Centre at the Queens Quay riverside site.
Demolition began in February 2021 and was completed in the summer.
In December 2020 a video was published on the Urbandoned page on YouTube in which a group of urban explorers shared footage from the inside of the building long after its closure.
In August West Dunbartonshire Council, which owns the site, was forced to admit that a page on its own website announcing that the site was "under offer" was an error, and that the land remained up for sale.
