A DRUMCHAPEL man who threatened to “blow up” a friend’s house will have to wait to find out his fate.
Robert Clunie, of Tallant Road, sent numerous angry voice messages to a friend through Facebook threatening to ‘stab’ the victim while also mocking the skin colour of her children.
Fiscal depute Abigail McKenna told the Dumbarton Sheriff Court on February 1 the messages were sent around 6.20pm on March 8, last year, at an address “within the jurisdiction” of the court.
In the recordings, which were played out to the court room, Clunie can be heard aggressively shouting to the victim “I will blow your house up and blow your car up” and “I am going to slap your boyfriend across the mouth”.
He continued to shout several messages later: “I am going to stab your c*** in hen. Don’t think you can f*****g run away from me”, adding, “f*****g scumbag” and “your weans are black hen what are you going to do about it? I have a white child am not black you f*****g smack bandit”.
In the recording he also laughed about how a grandparent was dead and buried “six feet under”.
Ms McKenna said that after the victim received the voice messages from Clunie she contacted his sister and asked to visit her as she was concerned if he would go through with the threats.
His defence solicitor Jonathan Paul said: “He apologises for how he behaved and is completely ashamed of his behaviour.”
Sheriff Frances McCartney said: “I hope you were utterly embarrassed and ashamed of these messages. The level of anger and aggression in your voice... I do hope you reflect on this and so you should.
“If this is the way you treat a friend how on earth can I trust you to treat strangers with courtesy?
“As a first step is I am going to place you on a structured deferred sentence for 12 weeks, so the social workers can identify the issues you will need to work on.”
Sentencing has been deferred until April.
