A Clydebank golfer who has been a member at the same club for more than 50 years is celebrating bagging his first ever hole-in-one.
Jim Swan, who has been playing golf at Clydebank and District Golf Club for half a century, scored his ace on the par three sixth hole during Tuesday’s senior competition the Hector McLean Trophy.
And Jim crowned off what was an overall special day by taking home the winners medal with his hole-in-one helping him to a winning score of net 64.
A spokesman for the golf club said: "Congratulations to our very own Jim Swan who after 50 years a member gets his first “Hole In One” on Tuesday.
"Jim informed us he cannot believe it’s taken this long to achieve his first Hole In One and is absolutely delighted at the grand old age of 67."
Tradition maintains that anyone who gets the ball in the hole from their tee shot has to buy a round in the clubhouse after the round, and Jim kindly left a nice bottle at the bar for the members to celebrate his achievement.
