TRIBUTES have poured in for a much-loved Clydebank art teacher following her death. 

Clydebank High School (CHS) announced on Tuesday, March 28, that Jackie Marno McGoldrick had sadly passed away. 

Mrs McGoldrick taught at the local secondary school for 19 years and was known to be loved by pupils and staff alike.

Jacqui Lynam, head teacher at CHS, said: “We are all very sad to learn of the death of Mrs McGoldrick, who was very much loved by the whole school community. 

"Mrs McGoldrick worked at the school for 19 years and was respected by staff, pupils and their families.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this sad time."

The school's art and design department took to social media to pay tribute to a "valued friend".

The post reads: "Today we lost a valued colleague. More importantly, we lost a friend." 

Current and former pupils as well as members of staff at the school shared fond memories of Mrs McGoldrick in the comments. 

One person said: "She was the best of us. I only got to work with her for three years, but to me, she remains everything I can only hope to be as a teacher and a person. 

"An inspiration. Heartbroken."

A second wrote: "I'm absolutely lost for words. What an inspirational woman, she was so strong and would never fail to make people smile. 

"She would light up every room she entered. She always made learning fun and enjoyable. 

"She made CHS a better place."

A third commented: "So very sad. She was an inspiration to my son and gave him the belief he could achieve a career in the arts. 

"The Newbury Prize and a Masters at the Art School were the results of this belief in him. Thank you."
