A DOG has died after a fire ripped through a family home.
The pet sadly perished after a blaze broke out at a flat in Drumchapel's Linkwood Drive around 4.40pm on Monday.
Two people were rescued from the burning building via a high-reach ladder and taken into ambulances.
It's not known if they were transported to hospital or what their condition is, although the Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
Three other people also received medical checks as a precaution.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) rushed to the scene with four trucks and remained on site until shortly after 8pm.
As previously reported, the community has rallied behind the family involved.
A JustGiving page has been launched in a bid to help rebuild their lives and it's already well on its way to meeting its target of £500.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 4.42pm on Monday, July 10, to reports of a dwelling fire affecting a flat on Linkwood Drive, Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised four fire appliances to the scene.
"Crews assisted two casualties using a high-reach ladder and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"A further three casualties received precautionary checks.
"Sadly one dog passed away.
"Crews left at 8.23pm after ensuring the area had been made safe."
