Climate activists have reportedly blockaded an oil terminal in Clydebank in a bid to ‘shut down Scotland’s oil industry’.
Campaigners from This Is Rigged - a Scottish pressure group that hopes to curtail the oil and gas industry – say they have no plans to allow supplies of oil from leaving the Nustar Terminal on Dock Street.
They also claim they have done the same at terminals in Grangemouth.
In a series of Tweets posted at 8.41am this morning, the group say they won’t stop until no new oil licences are issued.

They said: “Grangemouth supplies 90 per cent of Scotland’s oil.
“We have stopped oil leaving this site, as well as Nustar Terminal in Clydebank. We have no plans to stop.
“We are shutting down the oil industry in Scotland to demand that the Scottish government steps up and says no new oil, and implements a fair transition for workers.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of a number of protestors at the Road Tanker Terminal at the INEOS site in Grangemouth.
"There is also a small group gathered at the oil terminal at Rothsay Dock in Clydebank.
“Officers are in attendance."
