DRUMCHAPEL residents turned out in numbers recently for the area’s answer to T in the Park.
Hundreds of people headed along to Drumchapel Park last Saturday [July 15] to attend ‘D in The Park’ - a festival held as part of the area’s 70th-anniversary celebrations.
The event, organised by the G15 Project, offered a range of exciting activities free of charge.
These included a small petting zoo, face painting, bouncy castles, birds of prey, and character meet & greets.
Not only that but little ones had the opportunity to sit in the driving seat of a fire engine and police car – which was very popular.
Even though it rained on the day it didn't dampen spirits.
Joyce Bell, project coordinator at the G15 Project, said: "We've been celebrating since the start of the year as the community of Drumchapel is now 70 years old.
"We usually run these events every year but we haven't been able to do it since 2019 because of the Covid pandemic.
"It was a great day out and everything was free for all the families as it's hard for everyone right now so people were able to come down and enjoy themselves without having to worry about money.
"It was a brilliant day we were a bit worried about the weather but everyone enjoyed themselves."
