A world-famous organist will be playing a concert in Clydebank next month – and it’s completely free of charge.
Katelyn Emerson, an award-winning concert organist from America, will be performing at Our Holy Redeemer Church (OHRC) on August 8.
The Whitecrook church will play host to the event, organised by Sowne of Organe, a charity that looks to celebrate, survey, and record Scotland’s historic pipe organs.
OHRC itself is home to a rare Scottish-built pipe organ which was built by J&A Mirrlees in 1867.
The event will begin at 7pm and all are welcome to attend.
There will also be performances from Andrew Forbes (director of music at Glasgow Cathedral), Steven McIntyre (St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Glasgow), and Chris Bragg (University of St Andrews).
Bankies interested in heading along will not only be able to enjoy live music but will also have the chance to learn about the history and see the inner workings of the instruments.
