A much-loved beauty salon has closed after trading for nine years.
The Beauty Store on Bath Street shut its doors for the last time after the owner admitted to struggling with 'financial burdens' which meant the salon "can simply no longer trade".
The Covid pandemic, cost-of-living crisis, and the city centre's Low Emission Zone restrictions were all cited as contributing factors.
A statement shared on the salon's Facebook page read: "It is with much heartfelt sadness that I have to announce the closure of The Beauty Store.
"I have tried so hard to fight against the financial burden of the new 'normal world' we live in but it has forced my hand, for now, to ultimately make the decision and confirm that The Beauty Store has sadly ceased trading with immediate effect."
Clients and friends shared their good wishes, with one writing: "I’m so sorry to hear this news, thinking of you and wish you all the best."
Another said: "I’m so very sorry to be reading this. I am absolutely gutted for you and all the staff at the Beauty Store.
"I’ve been a client for years and years."
A third added: "I’m so sorry to hear this, wishing you all the best. [The] Beauty Store was one of the best salons in Glasgow with such passionate people."
