A PROBE is underway after a fire broke out at a building in Drumchapel.
We previously reported that emergency services responded to the scene on Belsyde Avenue after the alarm was raised at around 5pm yesterday.
Local residents took to social media to report that smoke was heavy in the area and that people were being urged to stay indoors as firefighters tackled the blaze.
Police have now confirmed they are investigating the circumstances of the incident and that the fire is being treated as “unexplained”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a fire at a building on Belsyde Avenue in Glasgow around 5.30pm on Saturday, September 2.
“Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“The fire is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
