A pensioner has been left badly hurt after being knocked down on a busy road yesterday.
The 78-year-old was hit on Great Western Road by a blue Toyota Auris at around 11am.
She was then rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where her condition is described as serious but stable.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
We previously reported how police shut down the road for hours while investigations were carried out.
Detectives are now appealing for information and asking the public to provide dashcam footage.
Police Constable David Caldwell of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.
“The road re-opened around 3pm. I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious collision.
“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0991 of Wednesday, 15 November, 2023.”
The incident happened close to Great Western Retail Park leaving shoppers horrified as some criticised the road's safety.
The road has since re-opened to drivers in the area.
One person said: "It was a woman that was knocked down. It is really sad."
A second person said: "That road is so dangerous. People are always darting across it after being at the retail park but the cars go so fast."
Third person said: "The road is a nightmare to cross because the lights take ages to change so people don't always use them.
“I don't know if that is what happened today but they need to make it safer."
Fourth person said: "Really sad stuff to hear so someone has been hurt. Police stayed on the road for a while."
