An “opportunistic” thief pretended to be interested in using a Dalmuir charity’s services – before making off with a money tin and a mobile phone.
The man was branded a “scumbag” by Golden Friendships founder Jim McLaren after a charity tin and iPhone was stolen by him on Monday afternoon.
The hoodie-wearing male had entered the Nairn Place community hub and advised he was in to have a look around with the indication he may be seeking the services' help.
Cops say their enquiries are ongoing in the search for the person who stole from the much-loved community hub.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a theft from a premises on Nairn Place, Clydebank, around 2.05pm on Monday, November 27, 2023.
“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
