Cinema screenings of Kevin Bridges' latest comedy tour earned nearly £400,000 at UK box offices as the show gets set to go on home release.
Clydebank funnyman Bridges’ newest show The Overdue Catch-Up made £375,000 upon its release – making it one of the biggest comedy releases since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Filmed live from the Cork Opera House, Ireland, his stand-up special was screened in over 700 theatres across the UK and Kev took to social media to detail the DVD and digital download release of the performance from Monday, December 4.
He said on Instagram: “Finally, you don’t need to come to the live shows, you don’t need to go to the cinema, it can all be yours to own and keep and watch as much as you want or gift it to somebody.
“It’s going to be a ‘multi-platform digital download’ according to the head beaks at Universal Pictures.
“Which means it’s going to be on digital platforms such as iTunes and Skystore, all that mob.
“And it will be on DVD for the older people or those of you who don’t like downloading or those of you who like to own something tangible.
“Or for a wee gift, a wee Christmas present, a Secret Santa or a stocking filler.”
Kevin has just returned from performing shows in Australia and New Zealand as part of his sold-out international tour.
The Bankie has been making people laugh since he burst onto the stand-up scene in 2006 at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
