PUPILS at a Clydebank primary school have been praised for their “amazing commitment” to climate action.
This week, youngsters at Linnvale Primary were celebrating as they were awarded their seventh Green Flag Award.
The Livingstone Street school received very positive feedback from the Eco Schools team at Keep Scotland Beautiful.
Pupils and staff were praised for their dedication to tackling litter with regular community litter picks as well as their “excellent work in embedding a culture of recycling” within the school.
There was even more cause for celebration as Linnvale became one of the first schools in Scotland to achieve a LEAF Award for the development of its school playground to increase biodiversity – this included adding pollinator gardens and a wildlife area.
Lindsay Thomas, head teacher at Linnvale, said: “Developing responsible citizens who are respectful of their environment is an important part of what we do at Linnvale Primary School through outdoor learning and our curriculum.
“We are very proud of our children and staff, and the work that they have done to improve our school grounds and care for the wider environment.”
