A CLYDEBANK primary pupil has won first prize in a national NHS creative competition.
St Stephen’s Maddisyn McKinlay came out on top of NHS24’s Christmas card contest, designing a card with the theme 'I'm dreaming of a Scottish Christmas'.
Like pupils from across the country who entered, Maddisyn was asked to draw an NHS worker and put them outside a favourite location in Scotland at Christmastime.
And, her design of an NHS worker enjoying some snowy weather complete with a festive Christmas tree was chosen by Chair of NHS 24’s Public Partnership Forum Anne MacDougall as the one to make it onto the service’s official Christmas card for 2023.
Anne, along with Mario Medina and Nicola Paterson from NHS 24, visited Maddisyn at school to present her with her prize.
Nicola, who is head of clinical services at NHS 24’s centre in Clydebank, praised the pupil for her craft.
She said: “Huge thanks to all the children and schools who participated in our Christmas card competition.
“It was a pleasure to visit St Stephen’s Primary School and present Maddisyn with her well-deserved prize.
“We were overwhelmed with the quality and imagination of all our entrants, and it was tough to pick out the winner, but Maddisyn’s imaginative winning design fits the competition theme perfectly.
Congratulations and well done to Maddisyn and all our runners-up.”
