A body has been found during the search for a missing Knightswood man. 

Police confirmed the body of a man was recovered from the River Clyde near Pointhouse Place in Glasgow at around 9.20am today. 

Formal identification is yet to take place but officers said the family of Michael Patrick Dougan, who was reported missing from the Kirkton Avenue area, have been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.20am on Thursday, January 4, 2024, a man’s body was recovered from the River Clyde near Pointhouse Place in Glasgow.

"No formal identification has taken place, however, officers believe the man to be 50-year-old Michael Patrick Dougan who was reported missing from Kirkton Avenue in Glasgow on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

"His next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."
