A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a crash on a busy road in Clydebank.
Emergency services responded to the scene on Glasgow Road in Hargdate after the alarm was raised shortly before 5pm yesterday.
Reports on social media claimed the road was closed in both directions during this time.
Police confirmed the vehicle was later recovered.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers did attend Glasgow Road, Clydebank after a report of a crash around 4.50pm on Thursday, January 4.
"A woman was taken to hospital and the vehicle was recovered."
