A woman has been living in a flooded home since before Christmas.
Helen Gilluley has leaks in her damaged roof and has been trying to catch the water in buckets for more than five weeks.
The 55-year-old, from the Temple area of Glasgow, struggles with mobility and relies on a walking stick so is terrified of slipping on the water.
She claims she can’t use her kitchen because of her anxiety, which has gotten worse since storms battered the city causing more damage and leaks.
We previously reported how Storm Isha brought weather warnings and gale-force wind and rain to the area.
Fighting back tears, Helen told our sister title the Glasgow Times: “I have had a leak since before Christmas, it has been a real nightmare for me and caused flooding.
“The storms have made things worse and I am trying to catch the water with buckets all over the place.
“If someone had come out when I first raised the issue it wouldn’t be so bad, I have called constantly but no one is fixing it.
“I’m really scared of falling and hurting myself. I need a walking stick and struggle with mobility.
“I can’t even use my kitchen or get a cup of tea because I am so worried I will slip on the water.
“It is causing me a lot of stress and making me depressed, I live alone so if I fall it would be very bad.”
Our photographer visited Helen’s home and pictured the damage on the ceiling and large buckets scattered across the property.
The main leak areas are in the hallway and kitchen leaving Helen avoiding the areas out of fear for her safety.
Her housing association, Wheatley Homes Glasgow, has now apologised for the delay in fixing Helen’s roof and causing “upset”.
They have offered her temporary accommodation and to pay for any redecoration needed as a result of the damage.
A Wheatley Homes Glasgow spokesperson said: “We’re very sorry for the delay in fixing the roof and for any upset to our tenant.
“Our team visited her home last night and again today to inspect the roof. Our repairs team are working to arrange a permanent fix as soon as possible.
“We’ve offered the tenant a temporary move while the work is being carried out. We’ll also arrange for any internal redecorations that need done in the home.”
