A surprised Drumchapel man couldn’t believe his luck as he popped to the shops for milk and left with over £60 worth of goodies for free.
David Colligan had just finished an early shift and was nipping to the Keystore on Duntreath Avenue in Knightswood when he was invited to take part in a basket dash challenge by Snappy Shopper.
The Drumchapel resident was given 60 seconds to fill a basket with as many things as he possibly could with it all being paid for by Snappy Shopper.
Alcohol and vapes were excluded from the deal.
The Knightswood store is one of many across Scotland to appear on the delivery site which allows people to order groceries to be delivered to their homes.
David managed to gather a basket full of items including cakes, juice, crisps, toiletries, and a copy of the Clydebank Post all whilst being cheered on by Ian Barclay, a Snappy Shopper rep.
The total came to £63.39.
Our reporter caught up with David after the challenge.
He said: “I’m feeling thankful, I’d only come in for milk for a cup of tea. It was good fun and I enjoyed it.
“I did feel slightly panicky running about but my strategy was just to go for everything I wanted and get as much of it as I could.
“I had no idea that this would happen and I’m excited to go and start eating and drinking as much of it as I want.”
Shazia Sarwar, a sales assistant at the shop, added: “That was really, really fun. To be honest with you this is the first time that we’ve done something like this and it was so nice to see David so excited.
“I would love to do this again.”
