STILL Game and Chewin’ the Fat fans are in for a treat this weekend as Greg Hemphill returns to Some Laugh for the podcast’s live show.
The podcast, from Bankie Marc Jennings, Stephen Buchanan, and Stuart McPherson, sees the award-winning comedians have "some laugh" discussing topics big and small whilst joined by special guests.
At Saturday’s live show, taking place at The Pavilion Theatre as part of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival (GICF), the trio will also be joined by guests Raymond Mearns and Christopher MacArthur-Boyd.
They say they’re "really excited" to have them take part in the show as they were ‘at the top of the list’ of potential guests.
Marc said: "We’ve got Raymond Mearns and Chris MacArthur-Boyd who’ve been two of our most popular guests, Chris is more or less a host as well.
"Raymond is a legend of the Scottish comedy circuit and it’s great to have him back because he was such a popular guest when he came on.
"Then of course we’ve got Greg Hemphill from Still Game who had a brilliant episode when he came and done it.
"He was really generous and told us really funny stories so to have him back just tops it off and it’s going to make it a magic night."
This weekend’s show will be the podcast's biggest live show to date, a year after they did a recorded show in front of 300 people at the Glee Club across the street on Easter Sunday in 2023.
"I’m really excited but I’m trying not to think of it too much," Stephen from Old Kilpatrick says.
"But once we get out there it’s going to be a good laugh.
"We were talking to Greg [Hemphill] the other night and he said when he’s done The Pavilion in the past you can feel the laughs hit you because it’s a huge theatre but quite compact so I can’t wait to hopefully feel that."
Stuart added: "The whole thing is so absurd that you’re just sitting about with a couple of your pals, we started doing it in a shed, and now enough people care enough you can do it in a theatre.
"It’s completely bananas, that’s not lost on me."
Following live shows across the UK, including in Edinburgh and Glasgow, they’re looking forward to getting back in front of a city crowd.
Marc said: "People from all over talk about Glasgow audiences being some of the best and I think that’s true.
"And when you’re also a hometown act as well, it adds an extra layer.
"I think a hometown gig would be nice anywhere but when your hometown is Glasgow and the audiences are historically great, there’s nothing better than that."
Some Laugh – Live! will be at The Pavilion Theatre as part of GICF on Sunday, March 31.
