A WHITEINCH nursery has undergone major refurbishments.
Victoria Park Kindergarten on Dumbarton Road was taken over by the Bright Stars Nursery Group in October 2022.
And their playroom for three to five-year-olds has recently undergone a transformation.
Lisa McNaught, area manager of the nursery, was keen to highlight the changes in place.
"An indoor garden has been created where children have endless opportunities to immerse themselves in the natural world," she said.
"The preschool now features five individual pods that support children in all areas of their learning and development.
"This high-quality facility will enrich children’s language development, as it provides cosy spaces for conversation and critical thinking to occur."
The nursery has the capacity for up to 140 children and Lisa was keen to point out the different experiences the preschool can now offer after the recent development.
"Children discover scientific concepts in the water cabin, as they pour and watch the flow of water trickle along the clear trays on the water wall," she continued.
"Jugs, funnels, and different-sized containers are available for children to compare and gain an understanding of volume, supporting their mathematical knowledge.
"Furthermore, the development of the sandy cabana provides sensory exploration for children.
"They can practice scooping, pouring, sifting and moulding sand, enabling them to strengthen the small muscles in their hands.
"Children’s creativity will also come alive in the new art studio. This comes with a large flower press where children can create their own floral arrangements."
Lisa also insists that parents have been praising the environment created at the nursery and that the children have also been enthusiastic about the refurbishment.
"The kids are really enjoying it and are excited every day to come here," she added.
"They have been more engaged and even the children that are bit quieter are coming out of their shells.
"The feedback from the parents has also been really positive."
