NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's (NHSGGC) Chief Executive has announced her retirement.

Jane Grant - who has been in the role for seven years - will retire this year.

In total, Jane has worked in the NHS for more than 41 years.

She joined the health board in 1983 as a Management Services Officer within the Highland Health Board before progressing through a variety of management positions in Lanarkshire and Glasgow.

After that, Jane was appointed Chief Executive of NHS Forth Valley in October 2013 before becoming NHSGGC's top boss in April 2017.

The loyal NHS worker will remain in the post until the end of the year before stepping down.

Announcing her retirement, she said: “I have decided to retire after 41 years’ service to NHS Scotland. Within that time, I have been fortunate to work in five Health Boards across Scotland.

"I have had the privilege of working with many outstanding colleagues but I believe the time is right to hand over the reins to a new Chief Executive.”

"On a personal level, she has provided immense support to me in the months since I took up the post and I am very grateful for her support.
