He said: "We were about the seventh award in so we got to hear loads of other organisations that are doing brilliant work in Scotland, we didn’t expect to win.

"Once it came to us, they announced the runner-up and we still didn’t think we were going to win. We thought we had missed out.

"Then they started to describe the work we were doing and then we realised it was us they were talking about - we were shocked."

Their award recognises and celebrates the achievements of a community-led group or project that has supported other individuals or groups.

Tony added: "It was amazing to actually hear from another perspective all the stuff we do. We don’t realise how much we do because we are just used to running these things, but when you hear somebody talking about it the number of people that are involved and how many people we help, it's crazy."

Flourishing Faifley was created two years ago and has been supported by Knowes Housing Association and Community Links Scotland.
