YOUNG carers in West Dunbartonshire have been putting their teamwork skills to the test ahead of a fundraiser for a respite trip later this summer.
Staff and service users at Y Sort It, a charity that works with young people across the area, are taking part in sponsored cycle of the West Highland Way to raise funds for their Young Carers Fest.
Holly Allison, Young Carers manager at the organisation, opened up on the work the charity is involved in.
"As well as helping those between the ages of eight and 18, we also have a youth board which includes those aged 16 and 25 who use the service and they help make decisions on Y Sort It," she said.
"We have our youth groups, a care-experienced service and also our young carers service as well.
"It is about providing support for the young people in the area."

The group's Young Carers Fest will provide those in attendance with important rest bite from the stresses of daily life.
And Holly detailed the plans for the event.
"We regularly take some of our young people to stay at our hut in Carbeth, which they love, and we will use that area to put on our own festival," she continued.
"In order to get funds for an event like this, the young people are well aware that a significant fundraiser is needed so that is why some of them will be cycling the West Highland Way.
"There is a committee of young people who have ideas and also encourage others to express their opinions so it is a real collaborative effort.
"We are going to Auchengillan Outdoor Centre on the first day and then at the site in Carbeth we will be hosting plenty of events."
Holly has worked for the charity for over three years and she praised the teamwork of the young people in the group.
"It is events like these that make me love my job as it is amazing to see the young people so passionate about the project," she added.
"It is a really great community we have built."
