A Clydebank man who left a young child standing at the ledge of a window has been ordered to do unpaid work in the community.
Christopher Frankland, 29, previously pleaded guilty to being responsible for a youngster and causing them to be neglected and exposed in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury.
The child was standing unsupervised at an open first-floor window ledge on October 19, 2023.
Frankland, of Brown Avenue, returned to Dumbarton Sheriff Court on July 16 for sentencing.
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told him: "If you leave a child standing in a first-floor window, it's in the lap of the gods what could happen.
"I'm not going to consider sending you to custody."
The first offender was put under social work supervision for 12 months where he must accept mental health counselling or treatment as directed.
He must also do 90 hours of unpaid work in the community in that time. There will be a review of his progress in October.
