Emergency services were called to a fire near a street in Clydebank last night.

Firefighters responded to the scene in a field near Braes Avenue after the alarm was raised at 8.09pm.

One local claimed the fire was started as a result of wood and bins being set alight.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 8.09pm on Wednesday, 17 July to reports of a fire near to Braes Avenue, Clydebank.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances where crews extinguished the fire.

(Image: Newsquest) “Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
